Model assumptions
- Day 0 is today. Incoming stock and the proposed order arrive before demand on their arrival day.
- Daily demand is constant. Unfulfilled demand is treated as lost sales, not carried forward as backorders.
- The proposed order is placed today. Quantity covers the target days from arrival and leaves the chosen safety stock at the end; MOQ is a minimum, not a pack multiple.
- A late receipt does not repair an earlier stockout. Suggested quantities cannot prevent shortages before the new order arrives.
- The latest order day targets the first projected safety-stock breach, or first unmet demand with zero safety stock. Negative days mean the deadline has already passed.
- All dates and intervals refer to the 90-day forecast; no stockout within it does not mean unlimited coverage.
